Jean-Michel Coutu and Yuki Berthiaume-Tremblay, already known as collaborators within IDALG, bring a bold new artistic vision to life as Yocto on their 2023 release Zepta Supernova. Released on the French-Canadian label Requiem Pour Un Twister, this project was made possible in part through the support of the Government of Canada.
Zepta Supernova carves out a distinct sonic identity that blends electronic, rock, and pop influences into what can best be described as a polychrome and nervous art rock space opera. Drawing on echoes of exotic post-punk, the album unfolds across ten tracks that feel at once cerebral and kinetic, making it a compelling listen for fans of genre-defying, boundary-pushing music.
