Malcolm Catto Presents: Quatermass Sound Lab opens the archive of Quatermass Sound Lab, the prolific East London studio founded by Malcolm Catto — producer, drummer, and co-founder of The Heliocentrics. This compilation brings together previously unreleased recordings, alternate versions, and rare mixes that illuminate Catto's evolution as a sonic instigator and behind-the-scenes creative force in underground music.
The collection spans a wide and eclectic range of sounds, featuring artists such as Snapped Ankles, Vanishing Twin, Little Barrie, Cyril Cyril, and Professor Wouassa, among others. From abrasive post-punk electronics to jazz-inflected experiments and global rhythms, the music reflects the restless, genre-defying spirit that has defined Quatermass Sound Lab as one of London's most quietly influential creative spaces.
