Box For Buddy, Box For Star is the first record Nate Amos, of Water from Your Eyes, prepared as a traditional album under the This Is Lorelei name. Released on Double Double Whammy, it earned strong reviews, including an 8.4 from Paste and a 7.8 from Pitchfork, and was singled out as one of the week's best releases by BrooklynVegan and Pitchfork.
Amos filters American songwriting traditions through his own offbeat vision, and the result is a collection marked by endless exuberance and unpredictability. It's a rewarding listen for indie rock fans who like their songs warm, surprising, and a little off-kilter, and it shows another side of an artist best known for his work in Water from Your Eyes.
