The Philly Special Christmas team was overwhelmed by the support we received last year. Together, with help from the fans, the original record raised $1.25 million for local Philadelphia charities. This year promises to be even bigger!
The players: Jason Kelce, Lane Johnson and Jordan Mailata spent their well-earned summer in the studio, once more with producer Charlie Hall (of The War on Drugs) to record 11 new songs - including one penned by Jason Kelce, himself!
Executively produced by Connor Barwin (the former Eagles linebacker and current executive whose Make The World Better concerts have been headlined by Philly acts like Mount Joy, Kurt Vile & more) and released on Barwin & Kelce's record label VERA Y, it features even more local artists - like Philadelphia icon Patti LaBelle, Amos Lee, The Hooters’ Eric Bazilian and Rob Hyman, DM Hotep, Kevin Hanson, Luke Carlos O’Reilly, Waxahatchee, members of The War on Drugs, Dr. Dog, Mewithoutyou and The Silver Ages Choir.
“It never occurred to me that this gang would make another record and yet it never occurred to me that we WOULDN’T make another record,” Hall said.
"These records were born out of friendship and a love of Philadelphia. We wanted to create something special that would bring people together during the holidays.
