Miami is the second studio album from Los Angeles punk blues outfit The Gun Club, released in 1982. Following the acclaimed debut Fire of Love, the band faced the challenge of living up to one of the most celebrated independent records of its era — and delivered a bold, adventurous response. The album was produced by Chris Stein of Blondie and released on his Animal Records label, lending the project a distinctive creative pedigree.
The record features a slightly evolved Gun Club lineup, with Ward Dotson stepping in on guitar alongside frontman Jeffrey Lee Pierce, whose raw, visionary songwriting remains the beating heart of the album. Debbie Harry of Blondie appears as a backing vocalist on several tracks, adding an unexpected dimension to the band's signature blend of punk, blues, and gothic Americana. Miami stands as a daring and underappreciated chapter in The Gun Club's catalog, showcasing a band willing to push beyond the sound that made them famous.
