Real to Reel is the sixth studio album from hard rock veterans Tesla, released in 2007. Rather than presenting original material, the band took a deep dive into the classic rock era of the late 1960s and early 1970s, delivering heartfelt covers of songs that clearly shaped their musical DNA. It stands as a loving tribute to the roots of rock and a testament to Tesla's enduring passion for the genre.
What makes Real to Reel particularly special is the approach Tesla took in recording it — capturing the material using analog tape and vintage equipment to achieve a warm, authentic sound that honors the spirit of the originals. The result is a collection that feels both deeply familiar and unmistakably Tesla, showcasing the band's instrumental chops and soulful vocal delivery. Fans of classic rock and hard rock alike will find plenty to love in this skillfully crafted homage.
