Wisconsin Death Trip marks Static-X’s explosive debut, blending crushing industrial metal with electrifying electronic textures. Released by Music On Vinyl to celebrate the album’s impact, it showcases the band’s signature “evil disco” sound that quickly carved out a cult following in the late ‘90s rock scene.
Fans will appreciate the album’s fusion of heavy, aggressive riffs and spacy, atmospheric elements—most notably in tracks like “December,” co-written with connections to vocalist Wayne Static and drummer Ken Jay’s previous band. The album’s creative sampling, including moments from classic sci-fi cinema, adds a layer of intrigue to its relentless energy, making Wisconsin Death Trip a must-hear for anyone exploring industrial and alternative metal.
