More than 50 years in the making, Trixies is a long-lost concept album from Squeeze's legendary songwriting duo Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook. Written in their earliest days as musicians — Tilbrook crafting melodies in a rented bedroom while Difford filled pages with vivid lyrics about the goings-on in a mythical nightspot called Trixie's — the resulting 12-song suite was never recorded or released at the time due to a lack of label support. Now, in 2026, Squeeze fans finally have the chance to hear this formative and fanciful work.
The album showcases the full range of what made Squeeze so distinctive, from the beautifully Beatlesque atmospheres of "The Place We Called Mars" to the raw, staccato energy of "Hell On Earth," with its vivid Soho nightclub vignettes and baroque-tinged unease.
