The Grammy-winning collective Snarky Puppy explores new sonic territory with their acclaimed 2016 release, Culcha Vulcha. Marking their first studio album in eight years, the band crafts a moodier, more atmospheric fusion of jazz, funk, and world influences, showcasing intricate arrangements and a dynamic ensemble known as "the Fam."
Culcha Vulcha stands out for its subtle, patient grooves and richly layered soundscapes, moving away from the high-energy live recordings that earned the group their devoted following. This album captures Snarky Puppy at their most innovative, presenting a fresh perspective on contemporary jazz both for long-time fans and new listeners alike.
