The Pimpire Strikes Back showcases Roc Marciano at the height of his powers, blending razor-sharp lyricism with a jazz- and soul-infused hip-hop soundscape. Released on Fat Beats in 2014, this project captures his distinctive, cinematic storytelling alongside production from heavyweights like Madlib and collaborations with talents such as Action Bronson, Willie The Kid, Meyhem Lauren, and Knowledge the Pirate.
Celebrated for its moody atmosphere and intricate wordplay, The Pimpire Strikes Back stands out as a highlight in Roc Marciano’s discography. The diverse musical palette and unexpected sonic twists—like the 80s-inspired “German V’s”—make this album a compelling listen for fans seeking thoughtfully crafted hip-hop with a timeless, soulful edge.
