Poor Moon is the enchanting 2012 debut from Seattle’s Poor Moon, released on Sub Pop. With a unique blend of rock and pop, the album showcases warm, earthy tones and deceptively simple arrangements woven through ten thoughtful originals. Subtle instrumentation—marimba, harpsichord, and fretless zither—creates a rich palette that reflects the band’s careful attention to detail.

The album’s haunting harmonies and gentle progressions evoke the spirit of American songcraft, drawing inspiration from Southern roots and a sense of quiet introspection. Finishing with the quietly uplifting "Birds," Poor Moon offers listeners a tranquil, nuanced journey that resonates long after the final note drifts away.
