Composer, educator, and technologist Max Alper — known online as La Meme Young and recording here under the Peretsky moniker — returns with his debut full-length It Doesn't Get Cold In October Anymore, released on Whited Sepulchre in 2025. Recorded in Brooklyn, NY and produced by longtime collaborator Jaydee DeLeon, the album weaves together minimalist piano, voice, and electronics into something that feels at once deeply personal and sonically expansive. It was mastered by Joshua Eustis, known for his work with Telefon Tel Aviv and Nine Inch Nails.
It Doesn't Get Cold In October Anymore draws from an ambitious range of influences — the impressionist and blues piano of Erik Satie and Emahoy Tsegue Mariam Gebru, the drone doom Americana of Dylan Carlson, and the minimalist vocal sensibilities of Anohni and FKA Twigs — yet arrives at a sound that is entirely its own. Where others might retreat from vulnerability and intimate subject matter, Peretsky leans fully into both, crafting a collection of songs that aims to leave both artist and listener changed for the better.
