The genesis of this record is rooted in various experiences and influences. A significant portion of it mirrors the group's years in Berlin, resonating with moments in dimly lit nightclubs where exhilaration soared. The intention was to immerse listeners into the club's atmosphere - into an intense, anonymous, euphoric realm that unveils itself under the precise blend of chords and rhythms. It's about reaching a state of transcendence, where one ceases to think and simply feels, simply moves. It's about that profound escapism.
Prior to this, the group spent months globetrotting, gracing festivals, and headlining events, all in an endeavor to stir the audience into motion. Gradually, they felt an irresistible gravitation towards dance music, leading them to incorporate more prolonged, repetitive sequences into their performances. During their last European tour, their set metamorphosed—half was dominated by rave vibes, while the other half preserved traditional songs. However, they hit a ceiling in terms of how much they could evolve their live shows, especially larger ones. The dance segments were polarizing for their audience, and for it to truly resonate, they needed unanimous participation and surrender from the crowd. This set the stage for 'Live Vol. 2', where they took the plunge, renting out a cozy club, stripping away the Parcels label, and all the preconceived notions attached to it, to create an ambiance of raw, unadulterated dance.
Their journey the previous year felt akin to rigorous training - venturing into prolonged semi-improvised dance sections, understanding mutual musical communication, and constantly keeping the audience intrigued. Night after night, they refined and redefined Parcels' tracks. 'Live Vol. 2' was their crescendo, their magnum opus, encapsulating a two-hour pure dance music spectacle.
