Nazareth's 1974 outing, the self-explanatory LOUD N' PROUD, is another prime slice of heavy metal rock, setting the stage perfectly for the band's commercial breakthrough, HAIR OF THE DOG. This 1997 CD reissue expands the album to 11 tracks.
It features a pair of cover songs, Joni Mitchell's "This Flight Tonight" and a nine-minute heavy metal overhaul of Bob Dylan's "The Ballad of Hollis Brown," as well as such standout original compositions as "Go Down Fighting," "Turn on Your Receiver," and "Not Faking It." While LOUD N' PROUD wasn't the U.S. hit the band had hoped for, Nazareth's big break was just around the corner.
