Folk Singer captures Muddy Waters at a pivotal moment, recording in Chicago and showcasing a raw, acoustic blues sound that stands apart from his electric catalog. Originally released in 1964, this album finds Waters exploring a stripped-down, deeply expressive side of the blues, bringing his distinct voice and storytelling to the forefront.
This celebrated album has been praised for its fresh, vital sound and is regarded as one of the few blues records with true audiophile quality. Tracks like "You Gonna Need My Help" and "My Home Is in the Delta" highlight Waters’s ability to deliver both power and subtlety, making Folk Singer a standout listen for blues enthusiasts and collectors alike.
