Miles Davis' Walkin' stands as a pivotal recording from the legendary trumpeter's catalog, originally captured in 1954 and showcasing the seamless blend of bebop sophistication and blues-rooted accessibility that defined Davis' mid-1950s sound. This essential jazz album features Davis leading an all-star ensemble through both intimate ballads and driving uptempo numbers, demonstrating the musical vision that would cement his status as one of jazz's most influential figures.
This 2018 Jazz Images reissue comes beautifully presented in gatefold packaging with striking photographs, making it a must-have for collectors and jazz enthusiasts alike. The release includes a bonus track and captures the raw energy of these historic sessions, including the previously unreleased "Love Me or Leave Me" that producer Bob Weinstock famously called his favorite record he ever produced.
