Kind of Blue is frequently cited as the greatest jazz album of all time.

Miles Davis - Kind Of Blue - 180 Gram Deluxe Gatefold with session photos.

‘Kind of Blue’ is the now classic studio album by the legendary American jazz trumpeter Miles Davis, recorded in 1959 at Columbia’s 30th Street Studio in New York City. The album features Davis’s ensemble sextet consisting of saxophonists John Coltrane and Julian ‘Cannonball’ Adderley, pianist Bill Evans, bassist Paul Chambers, and drummer Jimmy Cobb, with new band pianist Wynton Kelly appearing on one track in place of Evans. Newly pressed on 180g vinyl.

From the hard bop period

If you are just getting to jazz, I'd recommend this as the first Miles Davis album. Accessible, but still innovative, good for background music.
