Captured live at the legendary Newport Jazz Festival on July 3, 1958, At Newport 1958 presents Miles Davis and his sextet in peak form during one of jazz's most celebrated outdoor festivals. This performance took place on the same remarkable evening that featured Duke Ellington's big band with special guests Gerry Mulligan and Mahalia Jackson, making it part of one of Newport's finest programs.

At Newport 1958 showcases the complete live performance from that historic July night, offering listeners an authentic snapshot of Miles Davis' artistry in the late 1950s. For jazz collectors and Miles Davis enthusiasts, this release provides an essential document of the trumpeter's work during a pivotal period in his career, preserved with all the energy and spontaneity that only a live festival recording can deliver.
