Recorded in Los Angeles in January 2018, Ghost Forests brings together two of folk music's most distinctive voices: Meg Baird, a dreamy singer and fingerstyle guitarist with a remarkable collaborative pedigree, and Mary Lattimore, a harpist celebrated for her hypnotic, atmospheric playing. Together, they craft a six-track mini-LP that draws inspiration from an SFMoMA exhibition and closes with a hauntingly reimagined version of the traditional child ballad "Fair Annie," rooted in a 1983 recording by Beverly Woods.
Released on Three Lobed Recordings, Ghost Forests is a limited edition pressing that showcases the natural chemistry between two artists who bring out the very best in each other. The album blends Baird's folk sensibilities with Lattimore's lush harp textures to create something genuinely transportive — an intimate, carefully crafted collaboration that feels both timeless and deeply personal.
