Three-time Grammy winner Lucinda Williams' 17th studio album World's Gone Wrong arrives as one of the most politically charged and emotionally raw releases of her storied career. Written and recorded during the chaotic spring of 2025, this collection of protest songs confronts America's divisions and reflects on resilience. Released through her own Highway 20 Records label on January 23, 2026, the album features powerhouse collaborations with Mavis Staples, Norah Jones, and Brittney Spencer—voices that embody soul, grace, and strength.
Co-produced by Williams' husband Tom Overby and longtime collaborator Ray Kennedy, the album was recorded at Kennedy's Room & Board Studio in Nashville. The album includes nine original Williams compositions plus a stirring cover of Bob Marley's "So Much Trouble In The World" as a duet with Mavis Staples. Throughout the record, Williams channels her deep blues and swamp rock roots into urgent, relevant songwriting.
