On September 21, 2016 -- his 82nd birthday -- Leonard Cohen presented the world with a gift: An internet stream of this album's eerie, mortality-themed title track featuring appearances by Montreal cantor Gideon Zellermyer and the choir from Shaar Hashomayim Synagogue. (Part of the song appeared in an episode of Peaky Blinders in June.) The full-length, produced by his son Adam, contains nine new original songs authored, for the first time in more than two decades, solely by Cohen. ~ Thom Jurek
