Legendary guitarist and rock historian Lenny Kaye steps into the spotlight with Goin' Local, his first full-length solo release under his own name. Best known as a cornerstone of the Patti Smith Group and as the curator behind the influential Nuggets compilation, Kaye brings a lifetime of musical knowledge and passion to this deeply personal record released via Yep Roc Records in 2026.
Rooted in New York rock and roll with a warm undercurrent of '60s psychedelic pop, Goin' Local feels like a musical autobiography — each song a reflection of an artist who has spent decades at the heart of rock's most vital moments. The album even features a co-write with Patti Smith herself, making it a meaningful chapter in one of rock's most celebrated creative partnerships. It's a record that rewards deep listening, blending alternative rock sensibilities with folk and country textures in a way that is unmistakably Lenny Kaye.
