Forty years after Death laid the groundwork for Floridian death metal, Left To Die steps forward to honor that legacy with Initium Mortis, a debut full-length released on Relapse Records. The album draws from cult Death demo material — including songs from sessions like "Death By Metal," "Reign Of Terror," and "Infernal Death" — resurrecting ten tracks that were left on the cutting room floor of death metal history.
Rawly punishing and unapologetically macabre, Initium Mortis channels the spirit of early Death with a sound that sits somewhere between the primal ferocity of Scream Bloody Gore and the more refined menace of Leprosy. Left To Die approaches this material with reverence and relentless intensity, breathing new life into songs that helped shape the bloody birth of an entire genre.
