Few mix compilations have left as lasting an impression on electronic music as DJ-Kicks: Kruder & Dorfmeister. The Viennese duo of Peter Kruder and Richard Dorfmeister helped define the downtempo and trip-hop sound of the mid-1990s, and their entry in the legendary !K7 DJ-Kicks series stands as one of the most celebrated installments in the franchise's history.
The mix is a masterclass in atmosphere and restraint, weaving together deep, smoky grooves with jazz-inflected textures and a laid-back fluidity that feels both effortless and intentional. Remastered by Bernie Grundman, the audio has been given new depth and clarity, allowing listeners to fully appreciate the nuanced selection and seamless sequencing that made Kruder & Dorfmeister icons of the global electronic underground.
