In September 1998, a reunited Kiss, featuring all four original members of the band, released Psycho Circus. Although it was the first album to feature the classic line-up since 1979's Dynasty, the contributions of Ace Frehley and Peter Criss were minimal. Despite this controversy, the album achieved a No. 3 chart debut, the highest position for a Kiss album at the time, and a record only beaten by 2009’s Sonic Boom (which debuted at No. 2). The title track received a Grammy nomination for Best Hard Rock Performance.
The Psycho Circus Tour opened at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles on Halloween in 1998, and ran through till January 2000, when it ended in Anchorage, Alaska. Within a couple of months of this conclusion however, the band began their Farewell Tour which again covered the US, Canada and Europe, but also played dates in Asia and Australia too.
On 13th March 2001 Kiss took the tour to the Tokyo Dome in Japan where they performed a dynamic show in front of almost 50,000 fans. Recorded for live FM Radio Transmission across the greater Tokyo area, this previously unreleased concert is now available in its entirety for Kiss fans everywhere to experience just what went down that glorious evening in Japan’s capital city.
