Brothers Hugo and Osvaldo Fattoruso, best known as the driving force behind Uruguayan rock legends Los Shakers, recorded La Bossa Nova De Hugo Y Osvaldo in 1968 as a deeply personal exploration of bossa nova. Largely self-performed, the album weaves together original compositions with reimagined tracks from the Los Shakers catalog alongside covers of Burt Bacharach and George Harrison, all filtered through a warm Latin sensibility.
Originally released in 1969 in an extremely small edition, La Bossa Nova De Hugo Y Osvaldo has long been considered one of the most sought-after albums connected to the Los Shakers legacy. This 2022 reissue from Sommor marks the first time the album has been pressed on vinyl since its original release, and comes presented in a heavy cardboard sleeve with an OBI strip and a 12"x12" insert featuring liner notes and rare photos.
