Ireland's avant-punk quartet Gilla Band — formerly known as Girl Band — made an explosive early statement with The Early Years, a compilation of out-of-print 7" singles and covers originally released on Any Other City Records and The Quarter Inch Collective. Raw, abrasive, and utterly distinctive, the collection captures the band's uncompromising sound that would go on to earn them a devoted following in the underground rock scene.
This 10th Anniversary Edition brings these hard-to-find early recordings back into print, with standout track "The Cha Cha Cha" newly remastered and sounding better than ever. The collection also features the legendary eight-minute cover of Blawan's "Why They Hide Their Bodies Under My Garage" — a live set staple and fan favorite that remains one of the most singular and unforgettable moments in the band's catalog.
