Dublin's Gilla Band return with Pugnello, their exhilarating fourth album and a bold statement from one of the most adventurous acts in contemporary rock. Released on Rough Trade in 2026, the record finds the Irish quartet pushing deeper into their signature sonic territory — a volatile intersection of post-punk, noise, no wave, industrial, and techno that sounds like chaos but is, in fact, the product of meticulous craft.
Self-produced and surgically precise beneath its abrasive surface, Pugnello showcases Gilla Band's rare ability to wield volume and texture as compositional tools, pulling listeners through moments of crushing repetition, creeping dread, and sudden release. The album tackles weighty themes — mental health, personal and societal decay — with unflinching intensity, cementing Gilla Band's place as one of the most vital and uncompromising voices in modern rock.
