London-based producer Flame 1 made a striking impression with Fog / Shrine, a 2018 two-track release on the Pressure label. Drawing from the depths of UK bass music, the record sits at a compelling crossroads of dancehall, garage, and electronic experimentation, earning recognition as a standout among fans of the genre.

The music on Fog / Shrine is dense, atmospheric, and deliberately crafted, with heavyweight bass at its core and subtle textures that reward close listening. Echoes of UK underground luminaries like The Bug and Burial can be felt throughout, yet Flame 1 carves out a sound that is distinctly their own — gritty yet nuanced, brooding yet dynamic.
