The Faint includes: Todd, Jacob (keyboards).
Widely considered to be the Faint's most fully realized album, DANSE MACABRE finds the Nebraskan indie act crafting a compelling industrial-strength tapestry that meshes electronica and rock, as well as an 1980s and 21st-century aesthetic. While the opener, "Agenda Suicide," gets MACABRE off to an aggressive and sinister start, later tracks, particularly "Glass Danse" and "Your Retro Career Melted," nod to New Wave pioneers such as Depeche Mode and New Order without sounding too indebted to those revered groups. With this assured 2001 release, the Faint not only joined Bright Eyes on the top tier of the Saddle Creek roster, but presaged the post-punk/synth-pop revival that would kick into full swing a few years later.
