NOW AVAILABLE ON VINYL!!Evening Hymns have signed to Outside Music who will release the new album Quiet Energies on September 18, in Canada and the United States. Quiet Energies is the follow up to the critically acclaimed sophomore album Spectral Dusk. Spectral Dusk was a deeply personal album about the passing of lead member Jonas Bonnetas father. Although the recording of the album proved cathartic, the tour that coincided with the release was emotionally draining The goal of all those shows was to serve those songs and make them real. It was never fun.Quiet Energies, recorded with James Bunton in Bonnettas rural Ontario studio, sees the band (Bonnetta, Jon Hynes on bass and Andrew Kekewich on drums) let the sun and some Tom Petty into the songs, crafting the consummate driving record with deeply personal and insightful lyrics I was in LA and drove out to Joshua Tree to spend the day wandering around and shooting Super-8 film. I had been listening to so much Tom Petty on that trip, and it kind of came to me that this record was a journey. A road trip album. A driving album. Defining what Quiet Energies means, Bonnetta says Quiet Energies is the concept that all of this pent-up energy could be stored inside these quiet moments - a whisper that could be as effective as an explosion. Evening Hymns will debut their new material this summer at the inaugural Way Home Festival in Oro Medonte, Ontario and then will spend the majority of the fall and winter touring across Canada, Europe and the US.
