Stephen Duffy’s I Love My Friends stands as a heartfelt pop opus, beautifully capturing his lyrical wit and melodic mastery. Originally produced by Stephen Street, this album is often hailed as “the album he was born to make,” showcasing Duffy's deft songwriting and honest, vulnerable storytelling throughout.
This special edition, released by Needle Mythology in 2019, presents I Love My Friends as Duffy originally conceived it—with the restored inclusion of “Mao Badge” and “In The Evening of Her Day” on side one. The audio has been delicately remastered, and bonus tracks produced by Andy Partridge now appear on a companion seven-inch, making this a definitive version for new listeners and dedicated fans alike.
