The Meanest Of Times is a Dropkick Murphys album that carries the Boston band's trademark mix of punk aggression and Celtic folk tradition. The group is known for pairing roaring guitars with bagpipes, mandolin, and accordion, and this record is a high-energy entry in their catalog.
The songs are built around anthemic, shout-along choruses and themes of working-class grit, loyalty, and perseverance through hard times. The band's songwriting is rowdy and heartfelt, and it speaks to the struggles and resilience of everyday people. Longtime fans and newcomers to Celtic punk will find plenty to sing along with.
