Project Hail Mary (Original Motion Picture Score) is Daniel Pemberton's music for the 2026 sci-fi adventure directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, based on Andy Weir's novel. The Academy Award-nominated composer reunites with the filmmakers after their work together on the Spider-Verse films. His score follows Grace and Rocky's mission among the stars.
Pemberton builds the score on human fragility and hopeful optimism, with an organic, emotionally resonant sound that is also sonically adventurous. Ambient choral textures recall the feel of a sacred mass, and distinct themes mark the unlikely friendship at the story's heart. Over the course of the album, the music moves from wonder and tension to a quietly moving sense of enduring hope.
