And Their Power Was Alive is a collaboration between Faith Coloccia and guitarist Tashi Dorji, released on Whited Sepulchre in 2026. The two have a long-running friendship and creative partnership, and that closeness shapes a record with real conceptual weight. It was assembled across several years and places, combining Dorji's guitar with Coloccia's vocals, guitar, and percussion, plus piano, organ, and tubular bells.
The music is stirring and gorgeous, exploratory yet surefooted. It begins with the ambient soundscape of "Excessive Yield," which draws on experimentalism's darkest frontiers and lets Coloccia's touch illuminate them. Fans of atmospheric, boundary-pushing indie and experimental rock will find a lot to sink into here.
