Chrysanths is Emily Scott's brand new project in which she creates a deep, technicolour world landscaped by multi-layered textures and the flow and drama of existence.
Recorded in Scotland with Emily Scott firmly in the producer's chair, Leave No Shadow finds the artist flowering in new territory from that associated with her band, Glasgow-based Modern Studies.
A thirteen-strong string ensemble features, exalting in the swirling and enveloping string arrangements written by Scott, taking on a luxurious timbre reminiscent of Jean Claude Vannier's late 60s studio work or Fontana-era Scott Walker.
Scott's songwriting is elegiac and celebratory, the string work instinctive and natural, informed by Debussy & Bartok.
