Released in 1993 through Deathlike Silence Productions, Aske (Norwegian for "Ashes") is a foundational EP from Burzum, the influential Norwegian black metal solo project. Recorded in 1992, this release captures the project in its rawest, most primal form — a relentless blend of thrashy riffs, doom-laden atmosphere, and the abrasive edge that helped define the early Norwegian black metal sound.

This Back On Black reissue presents Aske in a striking grey marble vinyl pressing, complete with a gatefold sleeve and included Burzum and Plastic Head merchandise sheets. While not yet as fully realized as later works like Filosofem, the EP's raw energy and memorable riff work make it a compelling listen and a worthy addition to any serious black metal collection.
