Originally released on September 11, 1995, The Great Escape captured Britpop at its peak and solidified Blur’s place at the center of one of the most defining musical movements of the ’90s. Debuting at #1 in the UK, the album sold over 125,000 copies in its first week, eventually achieving triple platinum status with more than 900,000 sales to date.

The record features some of Blur’s most iconic singles, including “Country House” (#1), “The Universal” (#5), “Stereotypes” (#7), and “Charmless Man” (#5).
