BECK, BOGERT & APPICE: Live in Japan 1973, Live in London 1974 celebrates the legendary power trio featuring Jeff Beck, Tim Bogert, and Carmine Appice with previously unreleased live performances. Available here as a 4LP set, the collection captures the band’s raw energy during two 1973 Japan shows and one of their final 1974 performances in London. These recordings, mixed by Beck and Appice from the original multi-tracks, offer pristine sound quality, replacing the bootleg versions Beck disliked.
The set includes nearly the entire debut album performed live, alongside classics like “Superstition,” “Jeff’s Boogie,” and “Morning Dew,” as well as unreleased tracks from their planned second album. Featuring liner notes by Bruce Pilato, memorabilia, and archival photos, the release highlights the band’s brief but influential legacy, hailed as “the first successor to Cream.” Dedicated to Beck and Bogert, who both passed away recently, this collection stands as a tribute to their enduring impact on rock music.
