Recorded in a single session in 1957, Art Pepper Meets The Rhythm Section is a landmark album in West Coast jazz history. The session brought together alto saxophonist Art Pepper with the renowned East Coast rhythm section backing Miles Davis at the time, creating a remarkable collision of styles that has captivated jazz listeners for decades. Captured by legendary engineer Roy DuNann, the recordings have long been celebrated for their intimacy and immediacy.

This pressing is part of a series celebrating 70 years of Contemporary Records, with mastering handled by Bernie Grundman from the original analog tapes. Presented in a Stoughton Old Style Tip-On Jacket, this release is a fitting tribute to one of Art Pepper's most beloved recordings and an excellent addition to any serious jazz collection.
