Mother Mary pairs Anne Hathaway's original songs with the score of composer Daniel Hart, bringing together music and film in a project released through A24 Music in 2026. The songs were co-written with Jack Antonoff, Charli xcx, FKA twigs, and Hathaway herself, and the lead single "Burial" was written and produced with Charli xcx, Antonoff, and George Daniel.
The album plays like a fictional pop star's career retrospective, spanning the years 2003 to 2015, and its sound draws on the pop world its collaborators know well. Hathaway's performances sit alongside Hart's atmospheric score, so the record works as both a set of songs and a piece of cinematic storytelling. It should appeal to fans of stage and screen music and to anyone curious about this cross-genre collaboration.
