Senegalese artist Amara Touré was part of a vibrant musical era rooted in late-1950s Dakar, where a thriving nightclub scene helped forge a unique sound blending African rhythms with Latin influences. Amara Touré 1973-1980, released by the celebrated reissue label Analog Africa, collects recordings from Touré's time with the Black and White Band as well as his collaborations with Orchestre Massako Touré, capturing a remarkable chapter in West African music history.
