British electronic producer Actress — the recording alias of Darren Cunningham — returns with Radical Frame, his tenth studio album and a significant entry in his ever-evolving catalog. Released via Ninja Tune, the album marks a creative homecoming of sorts, channeling the intricate micro-house textures that defined his earlier work while expanding its sonic ambitions with broader, more sweeping gestures.
Where some Actress records lean into abstraction and lo-fi murk, Radical Frame arrives with a newfound clarity of fidelity and purpose, offering what may be his most focused artistic statement yet. Tracks pulse with the kind of deep, idiosyncratic house sensibility that sets Cunningham apart from his peers, and guest contributions from artists including CASISDEAD and Rainy Miller add further dimension to an album that rewards patient, attentive listening.
