Live At The Cabaret Metro, Chicago, August 14, 1993. In 1993, The Smashing Pumpkins’ released “Siamese Dream”; a meticulous work of ’90s Alternative Rock brilliance that injected much needed eclecticism into what was labeled the “Seattle Grunge Sound.” The Smashing Pumpkins would embark on a tour in support of that album, but not before a 3-night send-off at The Metro. The hype behind “Siamese Dream” could have easily allowed the band to fill a much larger venue, but The Metro was the perfect place for them to celebrate the album that would introduce their music to the world because The Metro was also the venue that helped introduce their music to Chicago. Historic venue for an historic concert. A must have!
