LP, Reissue, Special Edition, Blue vinyl. It’s been called a landmark session, the best jazz album of all time, one of the greatest musical works of the 20th century… and with good reason. This is Miles Davis as the king of the straight jazz album. The sound floats without any bumps, no challenges to your intellect, just baby food for your brain. Or maybe it’s like an aged-porterhouse with 2 side dishes ordered from a menu with no other choices. Recorded late in 1959, the lineup is the strongest of his career with a young dueling John Coltrane on tenor sax, a complimentary Cannonball Adderly on alto sax, Bill Evans on piano, James Cobb drums, and Paul Chambers bass. This limited edition pressing comes on limited edition blue, 180 gram vinyl. Essential and recommended.

1 review for Kind Of Blue (Limited Edition, 180 Gram, Blue Vinyl) (LP)

  1. Michael N

Frequently cited as the greatest jazz album of all time and one of the most influential pieces of music ever made. In Kind of Blue, Miles Davis introduces a new approach to jazz music termed modal jazz. Following its release in 1959, jazz would never sound the same. Kind of Blue marks a watershed in the history of modern music. Regardless of your interest in jazz music, Kind of Blue is a necessity in every record collection.
